Have owned 1996 GLX from new(106,000m).

Only over the last 6 months, it has started to to let in water in the passenger foot well

Been in to dealer who changed pollen filter, but made no difference

Water is actually rain water and not a fault with rear washer

You can occasionally see the water dripping off the glove box bottom. ,but does not enter the box

I think the problem only occurs when the car is rained on whilst staionery, but not whilst it is moving in rain

Anybody come across this and what is the solution please !

Also it has developed a distinct knock sound at the front. Dealer has charged drive joints and one suspension link but noise is as bad as every. Dealer now thinks it is to do with flexiing of the exhaust (original) - any ideas

Hi,

Have had simlar problems.Have cleaned all drains and changed pollen filter with no joy. Have since found water running along chanel betwen front fascia and windscreen on inside. When driving away the water runs along this channel and into both footwells depending on turning left or right. Have not had the windscreen seal checked yet but it could be a possibility as there looks to be a gap in the passenger side. This might work.

I had the windscreen replaced not long ago and suddenly my feet started to get wet.

Took it back to the fitters who 'rebonded' the screen and all seems well.

Try and get somebody to hose the screen down while you take a look inside.

If that doesnt work, buy some rubber ducks and enjoy the wild life.

You might even get local school field trips coming around.
