Deadly DD Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 Hi Martin I have just purchased a Ford Galaxy 2.3 1998 and had a new SONY MP40 head unit installed. Despite the ICE dealers assurances that the stalk control would work, he did not manage it. To his credit he then let me the unit at a huge discount as compensation. I have hunted high and low for a solution. Apparently it is a VW stalk control (compliments of the Portugese Sharan/Galaxy factory), and no one makes a compatible lead. So you are not the only suffering. As soon as I have found a solution, I will let you know. Quote
CasaPaulo Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 Did the ICE man overcome the aerial amp problem too? Maybe not, if he's unfamiliar with Galaxy ICE. Unusually the Ford/Seat/Visteon OE head unit sends 12v via the aerial lead, no other aftermarket H/U does this. Historically there have been some posts complaining of poor reception on FM after 'upgrading' Blaming the inadequate window aerial and even fitting a conventional one. Others haven't seemed to notice any significant drop off in reception. Some folks powered the aerial amp with a separate 12v lead thus solving the issue. If'n it don't work too good that'll be your fix. Quote
