mumof4 Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Right..here i have 2 cd changers....one is very obviously ford that when connected reads "no disc"..(bought it off ebay) :o Now the original one which spits out error code 5....i have just realised may be a vw one!!..why do i think this?????..because of the part number... 95VW-18C849-BA Am i right???? been told we will need to send it away to get fixed...though im going to have a gander inside it....any one out there who can give me some pointers???? :D Or...am i getting "no disc" because i am trying to fit a ford changer to a vw head unit even tho it is the 500rds unit??? Totaly confused myself now.. Quote
mumof4 Posted March 2, 2006 Author Report Posted March 2, 2006 ps...both changers look exactly the same..just diff part numbers. the ford one is...95GP-18C830-AA I take it that even tho exactly alike they are both different parts??? Quote
mumof4 Posted March 2, 2006 Author Report Posted March 2, 2006 saying that..the ford one is about 1 cm wider and 5mmlength ways.hmmm Quote

El Dingo Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 IMHO chuck them both away and buy an aftermarket MP3 player. One MP3 holds about 10 albums worth. Don't forget to buy converter cables, aerial amplifier and dash adaptor. See? Easy... Quote
El Dingo Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 ...not from ebay either... It's back-slang y'know - 'Ooklay on the Ebay'. (Like in 'Monsters Inc.', 'Ooklay in the agbay'.) Quote
steve67car Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 with out seeing it the NO DISC normally refers to there being no changer there so thats probly the fact you have a vw changer and a ford one post a picture of the head unit front and back and i will then try to help  Quote
