Guest hughie Posted August 27, 2003 Report Posted August 27, 2003 Need to change the rear brake pads for the first time. Appart from the piston being a swine to retract are there any other problems with this? Do the handbrake linkages need tampering with?. Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted August 27, 2003 Report Posted August 27, 2003 You must retract the pistons using the correct tool, and watch out for fluid overflow in the reservoir. Handbrake cable not affected. Quote
Guest Andy Posted August 27, 2003 Report Posted August 27, 2003 Proper piston tool, sykes pickavant, halfords around Quote
Guest chrisH Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I changed the rear pads, fairly simple job once I re-read the Haynes manual.when retracting the piston remember to twist it as well. I Didn't use the proper tool just long nosed pliers, they were fine, just be careful not to slip and split any rubber! Quote
