Cruise Control

Hi

Fitted a new airbag contact unit at the weekend and while it was stripped down I tried to find the wire for cruise control which I am going to fit next (Car is a Mk1 Tdi) Acording to the various posts it should be tucked up somewhere near the switches but I could not find it. Can someone who has retro fitted cruise control please tell me if there is a separate wire and plug or is the wiring to the switches all combined. If there is a separate wire please tell me where it is.

It is a connector with five or so wires on it and it is plugged into a spare socket on the left hand side the existing stalk.
