Guest MATT Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 im the main driver, and my wife, and son (18 years old, and 3 days!!) are named - costs Quote
mumof4 Posted February 26, 2006 Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 i know it is unfair, but it is because females are proven to be a more cautious and safer driver.... have you tried MORE THAN car insurance??? we were with them till hubby got more points...with 6 points it was 468 a year, when he got 9 they wanted 1020!!..we switched then Quote
Charliemuttley Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Apparently females aren't proven more cautious it is just that when a man has a crash he wants to take out as many cars as he can and cause as much damage as he can!! :D Quote
Scorpiorefugee Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 It all depends on How old you are, where you live and how many miles you do. We have 2 Galaxies and a Picasso, all diesel and all insured with Morethan on the net. Total cost for both me and the missus as named drivers for all 3 fully comp and 5-10 k miles pa around Quote
Guest MATT Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 i tried more than, they wouldn't insure us, because of my 18 year old lol MATT Quote
Guest MATT Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 also - online quotes never work for me - it lets me fill in the details (which takes ages!!) and then at the end, it gives me an error message, and tells me to phone them. lol MATT Quote
mumof4 Posted February 26, 2006 Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 It makes you wonder how they calculate your premium..i mean, admiral and diamond are part of the same group, but each will give you a different quote. same as other affiliated companies...they will each give diff quotes..why???there seems to be no reason. Also some companies go back 5 years for points and others 3.Points stay on your licence for 4 years, but after 3 they dont count. That is according to my stepdad who works in photograhpic evidence for speed cameras!! Guest MATT Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 i think they have a lottery picker thing on there computer "pick a number, any number" <they press stop on there computer, "and ur quote is...." thieves! MATT Quote
Scorpiorefugee Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Maybe you're all just have to wait for a few years. :D Free prescriptions, reduced golf club membership, no mortgage and........ er....sorry, what was I saying? Where's me pills? :( Quote
mumof4 Posted February 26, 2006 Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 Ive got a loooooooooooooooonnnnnggggggg way to go till i get all that scorp!! :D :D :( Quote
Guest jaseNEWBUYER Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 :( im wi morethan dun on net cost a cool Quote
Scorpiorefugee Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 ......and another happy customer! The trouble is that it all seems a bit of a lottery. Prior to and sometimes while using morethan I've had good deals from Esure, but that is also a bit hit and miss. I'm told that with telephone contacts it can happen that, if business is slack in a particular month, you may benefit from special deals to bring the sales up to target so it can depend on which day you call. gregers Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 every year i spend a couple of hours with the yellow pages and a note book and phone round, the insurance companies hope that you will execpt the renewal without checking if you can get a better deal elsewhere,in the 18 years ive been driving thers only been a handful of times ive stayed with the same insurance company. regards gregers Quote
Busman Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 Confused.com do about 25 companies in 1 go went back to Morethan mainly cause of protected no claims bonus and breakdown covers. Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 Just slightly off topic but has anyone with breakdown cover checked their smallprint for the maximum number of people that they can have "rescued"??? When I was looking round, many companies only recover up to 5 people which is pretty useless for a Galaxy full of brats. I do mine through esure with Green Flag who recover up to 7 people. Worth checking on your policy though ...... do you leave the missus behind or the kids?!?!? Quote
mumof4 Posted March 4, 2006 Author Report Posted March 4, 2006 really cepheus????..i shall have to check mine!! Quote
