Guest emjay Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 My V6 occasionally 'chugs' on tickover, I've only had it a few months and cannot find the cause, can anyone help? Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Go to the VW UK website. If you start at www.volkswagen.co.uk, a pop-up appears highlighting the problems they are having with ignition coils. The V6 has 6 of these... My mate's Passat V6 used to misfire sometimes when accelerating "lightly". The new coils fitted under warranty appear to have completely cured this. Just a thought. Quote
Guest emjay Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Thanx for your suggestions ...... however, this noise is more like a manifold chugging noise - like air being quickly drawn. Any suggestions? Quote
Guest shackers Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Have you checked all the Air Intake pipes? sometimes on the left hand side when a service has been carried out, a pipe gets a kink in it or gets jammed near the air filter. I have known Ford to do this many times.. could well be wrong though! be careful Unclipping the Air filter Box, them clips break easily... Quote
