There is a red and a blue button on the right hand side of the panel that controls the heater/air con temp in my 2.3 Ghia X. These used to illuminate. Does any one know if there's anyway of fixing the lack of light. I know it's trivial compared to some problems I've seen on the site but I'd still like to know if there's an answer.

I assume you mean the outer ring that illuminates? If so you can take this off and replace the bulb. I think that you may need to get the bulb from as dealer as it is an encapsulated one - although don't quote me on that!!.

You can definitely fix the light.

chevron i have the same problem as you,,,,i,managed to open the CC panel,,,and it is a little bulb in a black holder ( the bulb sits in the holder and the wire tags wrap around the holder,,,,very strange set up),,,,,,,,think you need to go to ford for it or get a bulb about 4mm high and 2mm wide with wire tags about 1/2"" long

from your post, it sounds as though you have climate control and not basic air con, (you mention temperature buttons, not a dial)

I'm sure there must be a way of replacing the bulb. i'll watch with interest for when mine goes !

Remove your radoi,,,,,put your hand in the space,,,,,feel for a little metal clip,,,,,push it upwards and gentle remove the cc unit,,,,,,disconnect the the cable plugs from the rear (its ok,,,,they are colour coded),,,,,,get a very small flat blade screwdriver,,,,,and carefully undo the clips on the front face of the cc unit,,,,,on the circiut board is a black bulb holder,,,,
