After picking up the Gal on Saturday I've noticed a loose cable with a connector on the end of it in the glovebox. The wire goes through a hole in the right hand side of the glovebox to somewhere behind the stereo. I've had a good feel around in the hole, but can't seem to find any reciprocal socket to plug the cable into!

The connector has 2 wires going into it, a Red & Black wire (marked "1" on the connector) and a Brown wire (marked "2"). On the connector are the markings "Germany SLD 16" on one side and "191 972 702" on the other underneath VW Audi logos.

Rough image of connector attached. Can anyone advise what this might be for and where it goes?!?! <_<

After fingering the hole a bit more and playing with my wire for about half an hour, I have concluded that as there is no light in the glovebox, it must be for this! Another thing to add to the list for the visit to the breakers yard.

If we have a whip-round and buy her a Platinum Rabbit we might never hear from her again.

Which would be a shame.... :( Well she might come back when the batteries went flat.

Must be something to do with having 4 kids all this filth then!! (I have 4 too!)

Note to self: Don't put the following innocent car related words in ANY posts for fear of mumof4 passing out .....

shaft, hole, finger, knob, wire, head, pull, lubrication, fiddle, screw ......

Or the following innocent phrases:

waggle it round a bit, shove it in, slide it in gently, grease it up a bit, oil the shaft etc etc etc.

:D :( :D :( :D :D :D :D :D
