Do not write entire posts in "netspeak"; it's difficult to read, and not everyone knows what the abbreviations mean. DON'T SHOUT. Typing in all caps is considered shouting, and is rude and difficult to read Be original. Don't overquote; copying a long post just to add "I agree" or "me too" is considered bad form. Make sure you have something insightful to say, and only quote the text that you are directly replying to. Don't post consecutively. There is no need to post reply after reply in the same thread. Every post can be edited and spelling mistakes should be corrected by editing, not by re-posting. Quote

mumof4 Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 this forum is supposed to have them...but where are they???not contactable!! though going off to another forum sounds good,i feel it would belittle all the help you guys have given to people,and the invaluable tips and guidance you have given to so many.There are so many topics covered on this forum and lots of posts to search to look for help.and more are added daily.When i was looking for help with my Gal,this was the only forum that came up.Ive found it a mine of information and ive saved some to my pc for when im allowed to dismantle my car.You have all been patient with me and i appreciate it,ok it may seem like i ask stupid questions sometimes..but i need to get things right in my head so i know what to do.Im not allowed to dismantle so the obvious to you,isnt to me!!I would hate to see this forum split as i value what everybody has to say in regards to fixing probs with the gal...and if like me people who need help do a search and turn up this forum,come here and find nothing,then i think that is sad.Ok,every basket has rotten eggs in it..but just dont let it get to you. I agree with MOF's last post, I know I don't contribute very much as I guess a lot of you don't judging by the new names but established members who pop up from time to time but I usually look up the forum with great interest most days & learn a lot from the experts. Get a lot of reassurance too. This sudden load of argy bargy is just spoiling it for the rest of us & probably putting other members off. It's not necessary so cool it chaps. And as for "mistaken" use of capitals....surely you read your posts on the screen before transmitting them so any errors can be corrected? PeteR Quote

johnb80 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I agree that going off to another forum would not be the best route to take BUT if people continue to get personal and no moderator steps in to halt the process we're going to lose some of the good ones. In the past we've had FredT who really knew his stuff disappear, Seatkid hasn't been round for a while and now VR6 is getting a bit hacked off. A moderator on here would help these situations by stopping the rot. I personally feel if there isn't going to be a moderator then I will start a Galaxy forum myself. Not sure who owns / operates this system, please appoint someone as a moderator before some of the current members kill it completely. Regards - JB Quote

Guest jaseNEWBUYER Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 :blink: good god i carnt beleive this one............the dealers sorting my car have told me they have, -renewd front landing bar, rechecked all the work, originally booked in for air condenser renewal-dun my M.O.T.......foc-60k major service....foc-full tank of fuel.......focnd gave me use of courtasy car 55 plate fiesta. however on close inspection they have found 2 warranty fixable jobs leaking gaiter and charfin (shay)(fin) air con hose........foc under warranty........but r you ready these cowboys reckon that when they came to take the grill off next to the r/s wiper arm/windscreen,it was cracked which they say was already done..........i think not..........am pretty damn sure i would have noticed has i only cleaned the gal on monday. they said they HAVE NOT renewd the pollen filture due to this damaged grill as per service??????? what you think?????????????are these grills difficult or expensive to renew and fit......please respond urgently i need to know wheather i should get back in contact with motor trade standards,has these boys are on the list of trading standards approved list??????? am not letting owt go now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol: Quote

Bigjeeze Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 If your arrow is pointing at the grille extension - ie the bit that surrounds the wiper then is is a simple job to replace - all you do is remove the wiper arm then it is prised off the clips. It's only plastic and they often work loose and rattle . Even if it is the grille it is not too difficult to remove. As for the pollen filter they shouldn't need to remove any of those parts to replace it. Although some people prefer to remove the wiper motor it is normally replaced just by removing the bulkhead plate - three bols and a bit of tugging. It's always been a sod of a job on both the Mk1 & Mk2. The cost of a filter is Quote
