Guest MATT Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 nikvenn - have your badges gone silver?? MATT Quote
Guest nikvenn Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 Do you mean the 'Ford' badge on the tailgate - if so then yes hardly any colour left at all ;) Quote
Guest MATT Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 yeh - the ford badges - its well worth sticking some new ones on. i think they cost me Quote
Guest nikvenn Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 Yeah, I did bid on some on ebay a while ago but somebody bid over the main dealer cost (inc p&p) and I haven't chased it up since ;) Quote
Guest blatters Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 JToh, Flippin hec, you're observant  Bridgestone Turanza ER30's on the summer shot mounted on standard Ghia wheels. Wheels presently hanging up at the dealer until end-March as they kindly  offered to refurbish them at no cost - having damaged them during services with screwdriver attacks. Continental WinterContact 810's on the winter shot mounted on standard steel wheels with plastic trims (so I can whip them off quickly to mount the snow chains). Incidentally, despite the very limited clearance behind the standard Ghia tyres you can use microchains up to 25mph with no problem (8mm linkage). And I tell you guys something..........if you have never tried winter tyres before on snow and ice you haven't lived. They defy the law of physics. Quite incredible traction. If anyone tells you that using chains on summer tyres is OK for the Alps in winter then, believe me, they're wrong. These winter tyres saved my holiday from being a driver's disaster to pure joy. Could go on but don't want to bore you. If anyone wants more details then just ask. Regards Blatters Quote
Guest nikvenn Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr..Lowest we've seen ours down to is -11, on the A1 near Leeds over Xmas  Quote
AndeeeH Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Just a thought, isn't it law in Germany to have two sets of tyres, one for winter and one for summer? Andy. Quote
Guest blatters Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Don't know about Deutschland but the Austrian Tyrolean types think anyone who turns up in their country in Winter with Summer tyres is  Bonkers. And they tell you that. Blatters Quote
ole Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Don't know about Deutschland but the Austrian Tyrolean types think anyone who turns up in their country in Winter with Summer tyres is  Bonkers. And they tell you that. BlattersWould tell you that in Norway too, and yes, they make a difference. If you had an accident because of the snow (got over 1 meter here now), and are using summer tyres, you can wave bye bye to your insurance money. And if you hit someone, they will get you to pay for him (or her, sorry mo4  )too. Last night we had -20 when I went to work... Quote

katman Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Whereas most people seem to use a very high resolution Colour digital camera, it seems that El Dingo has bought a BINARY camera. His pictures are either Black or White :( :) BTW, I hope the Polar Bear sitting on the roof didnt cause any damage :D Quote
