Guest JohnP Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 Is there any way to clear the fault codes without using VAG-COM?I have v311 and it won't talk to my module 9 - and I can't see anything else which might relate to this booster heater... (only have three modules on my Gal) PS 1 hour 45 to change the glow plug. Thanks for the tip about Hans Motors ! Quote
dave_m Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 Module 18 is the Aux Heater, 9 Is Central Electronics. If yours is a Mark One you may not be able to use VAG COM to reset. I seem to recall others having this problem Quote
Guest JohnP Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006  Ah ! I will keeping searching until I find a way of getting this darn thing going again.. Thanks for the tip - it looked like 18 should be the box in question - my Vag-Com 3.11 doesn't report a module there. I won't worry about the fact that it can't read module 9 either... until I have another fault to deal with ! B) According to the Eberspacher info I have, the heater needs to be reset with one of their control boxes, i.e. the heater itself is responsible for shutting itself down. Perhaps the booster will just retry itself one morning and surprise itself ito action? :P Here's hoping ! thanks for the tip.. John :P Quote
Masked Marauder Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 I have VAG-COM and a 1998 TDi with booster heater and mine will not talk to VAG-COM. I have even checked the impedance of the wire that it connects down. Quote
