My climate control started flashing at me when I started the car after having not used it for about 6 weeks (the battery was connected to a slow trickle charger ~250mA). I got my VAG COM out and found two errors, probably not related:

Address 08 Climatronic MPV GP 0003

00792 - A/C Pressure Switch (F129)

35-00 - -

Address 09 Multifunkt.Einh 0001

01135 - Interior Monitoring Sensors

35-10 - - - Intermittent

I cleared both errors and they have not re-occurred over the past few days.

Is there any relationship between the faults and what do they mean, eg is the air-con low or high pressure?

this code

relates to the interior alarm sensors on the B Pillars(inbetween front and rear doors). I often get this fault show up but my alarm seems to be working as it should.

The two codes are not connnected.

MrT,

I have had a quick google around and found this LINK for the

error, it has an extract from the DTC error code manual and goes into some troubleshooting.

Hope this helps

I've had this fault a few times.

First time, the cause was the condensor which had sprung a leak and so no air-con pressure. :(

Second time, the pipe work associated with the air-con pressure switch had also sprung a leak and so no air-con pressure again. :(

All have since been replaced and so far okay. :D

It's strange though that when you clear the faults they have not come back

If this fault is "real" then it should return with a fault code fairly soon.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi a noob to this forum so be gentle with me B)

I have the same fault code occuring about the F129 pressure switch; thing is a few months ago I attempted to get the AC system regassed thinking this was the cause for the AC not working. However, the mechanic told me that there was sufficient pressure in the system and that there were no signs of any leaks; he even left the gauge on there for around 10-15 mins to see if it discharged, but it remained constant. He then checked the compressor which he found not to be working. I have now VagComed the E87 control Module to obtain the codes from the flashing panel and I get this one about the F129 switch. I have misplaced my Galaxy manual cd and was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to point out where this switch is and what it looks like so that I can check if shorted or something(something similar happened to my Audi A8 where the high pressure switch got some moisture in it and shorted, shutting down the compressor). Some wiring diagrams would be great as well, pretty please B)

The Shalaxy is 2.3 zetec manual 1997 Ghia X, thanks in advance.

Ska,

I'm no expert but I have had problems lately. First, if the pressure switch is indicating low pressure, thepump clutch will not pull in. Second, a simple pressure test will not indicate how much gas is in the system. It can be at workung pressure but still not work. I pumped a whole can of top up gas into mine and the pressure read OK and the pump started to work but I had no aircon until I took it to a specialist who filled it up properly. The aircon then worked but leaked so he emptied it and repaired it, then refilled it and it is now OK.

Hope this helps.

All the more reason to check the pressure valve connectors etc. where is it located cant see anything under the bonnet, please don't say it behind the dash!

isnt the pressure switch on top of the reciever/dryer under the front wheelarch, i think it does low and high pressure , remove drivers side headlamp and you can see it. it can be removed with no gas loss as there is a valve on the dryer.

anyone beware those self top up cans, i put one in and the thing said pressure in the ok area, a few days later i put the gauge on again and it went well into overcharged area and blew the seals on the dryer.
