bigdaddy Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Hi guys,,,,,,,, abs fitted,,,,does not work,,,,vag-com says NSF sensors faulty,,,,,,(getting replace next month for mot),,,,,,,,,the light on dash does not work,,,,,,thought faulty or removed bulb,,,,,,,pulled out clocks to find bulb is an led,,,,,, So the main question is,,,,, with normal working abs the light will be on for a few secs at start up of engine,,,,,,,if the abs faulty,,,,,,,should the light stay on to show a fault (((yes)))or off to show a fault (((no))) if it stays on,,,then i can only assume the led at fault as well,,,,,,,does that mean i need to replace the whole circuit board at the rear of the clocks Quote
bigdaddy Posted February 11, 2006 Author Report Posted February 11, 2006 Thats what i thought ,,,,, so the bulb/led broke as well,,,,,,,,,wonder if mot man will notice  Quote
Guest tomo Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 i had the same fault abs sensor ,replaced it  but still showing sensor faulty :( . had good look found out it was the cv joint needed replacing ;) . all ok now , ;) . but when 1 go's the other will sure to follow ;) Quote
Guest jandrace Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 Also had same problem. Turned out to be the wiring to the sensor was damaged (wire broken at plug). Bit of solder and some tape 60K ago still working fine. Quote
mustie Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Hi  i had the dreaded abs light on last year turned out to be the abs ring on the cv joint had it replaced and all ok but now the abs light has come on again , so once the snow has cleared abit i will have to look at the abs ring on the cv joints I am hoping that its the problem as just phone fords and the want Quote
mustie Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 B) braved the snow , just jacked up the front end looked at both abs rings on cv joints and the ring on the drivers side has gone nothing left am i right thinking there should be one on both sides ???? yeah i think so , just been looking the web and the best pricewise for a new joint is partsinabox.co.uk Quote
bigdaddy Posted March 14, 2006 Author Report Posted March 14, 2006 Yes rings on all wheels,,,,,,,,,thats a good price you got there still not fixed mine,,,,,,,,,going in march 24th for mot,,,,,,going to wait for mot man to tell me wether or not abs is working   Quote
mustie Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 mine failed the mot last year cos of the abs light not working , the mot tester told me what he knew what was wrong (c v joint abs ring ) he did tell me then that i should replace both front cv joints , but at the time i only replaced 1 of em and now gotta do the other 1 . Theres quite a few cv joints on ebay for the galaxy/sharan/alambra some are very cheap others are around the Quote
