roly1977 Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 hiya people slight problem again ive this wobble on acceleration it starts at about 35 up, ive had the drop links, track rod ends, and now the ball joints on the lower arms replaced and its still there but when i take my foot off the gas it goes ive got a feeling its the drive shaft, there is no up and down movement but there is a slight in and out movement on the drivers side shaft. could it be slightly bent or is there anything else i can do or look at to resolve the problem many thanks  Quote
roly1977 Posted February 10, 2006 Author Report Posted February 10, 2006 is there anything i can do if its dry sorry if that sounds stupid lol  Quote
El Dingo Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 Yes, check for split CV boot first. If the boot is intact it should be possible to 'top up' the grease. EDIT - Don't overfill. Quote
Guest V6KID Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Had a simular problem last summer and it did turn out to be the drive shaft. Also happened to friends with a Gal whilst in Italy ! Quote
El Dingo Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Now I read your first post again, I wonder if you have a tyre problem? Have a look at the sidewalls, especially inboard (where you wouldn't normally notice any bulges). Quote
roly1977 Posted February 11, 2006 Author Report Posted February 11, 2006 many thanks so far ill check the tyres and ill look at the cv boot also is it easy to top up the grease Quote
roly1977 Posted February 11, 2006 Author Report Posted February 11, 2006 ooo  just rang ford lol this could be expensive right drive shaft Quote
soptom Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 many thanks so far ill check the tyres and ill look at the cv boot also is it easy to top up the greaseIf I remember right, I managed to get hold of a large cardboard syringe pre-filled with CV grease at a motor factors a couple of years ago. You slid the end of the tube under the edge of the boot and Bob's your uncle. I'm sure these are still available, I would try it before you splash out on drive shafts as it was only a few quid. Quote
roly1977 Posted February 11, 2006 Author Report Posted February 11, 2006 cheers mate ill try that is there any amount of grease to pu it or do i just fill it Quote
soptom Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 No, it shouldn't be filled but I'm not sure of the "correct" amount to be put in. Quote
