paulmpaciorek Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 MMMmm not a good day, after removing a couple of layers of skin changing a front side light bulb B) I decieded to go and have a cuppa...so I would close the garage door. Unbeknowing to me the wind had dislodged the garage door from one runner.....I closed it as normal,,,mmmmmm ...it twisted and dropped on the top of my tailgate and left a three inch gouge down to the metal :D .....worse still the door jammed against the tailgate and did another gouge on the upward stroke. Anyone recommend a good quality boot spoiler...probably cheaper to cover said damage than repair !!!! Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 ER I be using a few more words than just SH#T :D here's a few links for body kits for the Mk2 http://www.ccmotorsport.co.uk/Merchant2/me...mvc?Screen=SFNT http://www.tuningshop.co.uk/acatalog/ http://www.tuning.co.uk/rieger/ Quote

mumof4 Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Gotta laugh..a while ago now my hubby parked the car in the garage and went to shut the door(overhanging one)...i told him that it wasnt back far enough...but being a bloke he knew best....so he slammed the door shut and thought no more of it till he went to get the car out the next day..ruddy thing wouldnt open...after a few hours he gave up trying to open it and called someone out to help....took them 2 hours and the reason the garage door wouldnt open wasa because the inside handle mechanism had wedged into the bonnet!!!lovely hole there was.....i said i told you it wasnt back far enough and he didnt speak to me for days!!bliss!! Quote

Grumpy Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 This is a true story. Some years back I was with my sister and brother-in-law when they picked up a fairly new convertible. When we got back to their house the brother-in-law went to park their new pride and joy in the garage. The new car was a little longer than the old one so he had to drive close to the workbench at the end of his garage. Once he had parked the car and confirmed that the garage door would shut OK, I sugested that he fix a piece of wood to the garage floor just in front of the front wheels to act as a stop. The wood was stored across the roof joists so my B-in-law stood in the car and pulled a piece down. The wood slipped out of his havd and landed corner first on the front wing leaving a dent about an inch across. I think that they had owned the car for approx 1 hour. I had to wathch as the B-in-law silently went into the house to confess to my sister - priceless! Quote

seatkid Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Here's the tale....... Decides to fill up at Sainsbury's. As usual all the right way pumps are occupied by daydreamers with all the time in the world. So smartass here reverses into opposite empty lane and fills up. When I come out after paying, Big Tw*t White Van Man has pulled in front of me blocking exit path, with x cars either side. So, seeing my rear view mirror is clear, I decide to reverse .......driver's door swings open (how did that happen?) and BANG! One demolished petrol pump and slightly bent door later.... "Oh dear" - I think....or words to that effect.... White Van man sticks head out of window, bellowing with laughter, and shouts "Thats what you get for trying to reverse out of a forecourt!" - "Such wit" I think....or words to that effect.... I'd blame the wife except she doesn't drive and was at home at the time..... Don't cry for me Argentina.....the truth is... life is truly a bitch..... Quote
paulmpaciorek Posted February 8, 2006 Author Report Posted February 8, 2006 MMmmmm ...well what can I say !!!! I'm gonna leave the witty reply to Delboyt as his grammer always raises a smile B) ..........ah f*ck it ...I aint gonna waste this opportunity  ......Seatkid...you plonker........is there much damage to the pump    .....How are your skills with the touch up pen and lacquer.....oh and be quick before the rust sets in    Seriously....that looks as if its gonna sting you in the pocket !!! johnb80 Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 SK, fighting back the temptation to dish out some smart ass remark, you have my condolenses mate, it must have really pissed you off. I have to say, youre very brave to tell all on here, especially after you have dished it out so well in the past. Good luck with the repairs, hope it works out OK. Regards - JBP.S. If your better half had refuelled it last time she was out, you wouldn't have had to - thus proving it WAS her fault really. Quote
