Hiya all after just buying our galaxy I asume all the diesels have the extra heater under the nearside rear sill , I am pretty sure mine isnt working , Should I get the vag-com lead and software to diagnose the fault or just change the plug in it as this seems to be the common fault , but if I change the plug will i need the vag-com to reset it ???? if I do where is the socket that you plug the vag-com into???? Cheers guys

hi if it a mk 1 the sockewt is under the ashtray. from what i know buying the software and vagcom does not gaurantee the aux heater will communicate with it, particulaly the mk1 models.

ive done 2 now both mk 1 and they have not required the resetting done.

changing the glowplug is a favorite or bridge the temp sensor on the wiper linkage arm to see if that sparks it into life.

Ive looke at the piccs on other theads as well so i think i am looking in the right place .

You should have the heater, it was pretty much standard kit on a diesel.

It is located underneath the car just by the back passenger side door.

I have read all the other posts and I know where it should be I looked at the pictures of it being removed and stripped down on other posts but there just seems to be a empty space where it should be ??????
