montymousey Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Hello Helpers. My Galaxy is producing some really nasty fumes when I start up. It's coming just under the near side rear door where there seems to be a mini exhaust pipe and I assume it's something to do with the heating. Sometimes there's quite a bit of smoke as well. Hope somebody can help. Thanks. Quote
Guest blatters Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Hello Montymousey, Follow this link and the link that goes on from there. You are now a fully paid up member of the Galaxy owners' club - you have a booster heater that's working. Unless the smoke is very bad then I wouldn't bother. But if you have clouds of the stuff every time you use the car in cold weather you may need to get it seen to. Are you under warranty? If so, you are covered. Galaxy23 Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 It will be your auxillary heater. that will need checking out.I am having a problem with it smoking and am hoping to have it replaced under my warranty.Maybe your glow plug will need changing, but i do not really know enough to advise you further. There is a thread on this site for auxillary heater problems which may shed further light on the subject. Regards, Paul. Quote

Guest blatters Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Galaxy23, I shall forever be in your debt for your suggestion that I wrap sticky tape around the door strikers to stop the rattling. Best wishes. Blatters Quote
