I normally pay someone else to fit em but have decided to do em myself this time. can their balljoints be split with a hammer and cussing - or do they really need a ball joint splitter - If so is there any specific type needed? :( Thanks as always :blink: Quote
rushy Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 I did one of mine not that long ago, just undo the nut, then tap the track control arm with a hammer, the ball joint should come out. If you decide to buy a propper spliter, buy a scissor type. Quote

But I recommend that if you ever need a ball joint splitter then you go for a fork type one. Every scissor type I have tried has stripped it's threads out.
