Bigjeeze Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Can anyone advise me. My Gal is making an annoying whistling squealing noise that definietly appears to be coming from the brakes - It stops if you touch the brake pedal but arts again immediately you let go. It doesn't appear to make any difference whether the steering is moved or when turning. The car passed it's MOT three weeks ago - no problems were noticed. I have jacked the car up removed both front wheels - the calipers appear to be moving freely there is no warpage of the discs (new about 15k miles ago). I am at a loss . Any ideas? Quote
Guest JaseB Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 Hi matey, just read your post. Have you recently had newish pads, if so were they ford or some cheaper 3rd party the reason I am asking is because on the pads I removed ~(ford) there was a sticky pad on the back of the pads (some sort of anti squealing matt) you used to be able to buy these cut to shape and stick it to the back of the pads, when the calipers then squeeze they bed into this material and hold them this stops the pad from falling onto the disc and squealing. I have just put some new pads and discs on me GAL and it does exactly the same so I have got to get some myself. Hope this helps and hope its not to late Quote
