mike99 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I've seen pictures of galaxies with the 2 rear seats folded forwards to make more boot space, When I tried to do this to mine they wouldn't go cos of the seats infront of them being in the way! Eventially managed to tip them forward but they then press against the lever for tilting the backrest on the middle row seats :) Anyone know the correct way to do it?? :o Quote
NikpV Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Slide middle seats completely forward and the rear seats all the way back, I used to have a thick acetate sheet (thick oht) to stop the fabric catching but usually just hold the fabric now. BTW the design was slightly changed from mk1 to mk2 so it may be different for a 1999 model Quote
malcolm.dobell Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 The design changed a little, but is just more important to do what Nickpv said Quote
mike99 Posted February 3, 2006 Author Report Posted February 3, 2006 Thanks for the quick replies. I tried holding the tray in to fold them, one problem I've had is that one of the covers is missing from the lever to tilt the middle seat which has left a mark on the headrest. If the middle seats have to be all the way forward it doesn't leave much legroom. Also, how do you stop the rear seats falling back down? Quote
Rallim Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 You need to remove the headrests fromt the back seats to fold them properly forward. They will then be upright and not fall back down. Gordon. Quote
mike99 Posted September 19, 2006 Author Report Posted September 19, 2006 I know this is an old one but, I now have a mk2, and still have the same problem. the rear seats catch the front seats when folded forwards and get jammed on the backrest release handle. It even show in the handbook that it can be done, I must be doing something wrong?? I have the middle row all the way forward and rear row all the way back. Quote
Sharanfx Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 To stop them falling backwards .....push the middle row back again, wedging the rear seats in the folded position. Quote
