Guest Wanny Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Hi all, read some posts about high idle tick overs. My gal has started ticking over at 1500rpm then occasional comes down to 900rpm as norm and sometimes even sounds like its missing. Previous post seem to indicate that the ACV can cause this ? My question is where is it on the 2.3, theres the air metering head and then on the big black intake pipe that runs to the throttle body i presume its around there somewhere only had a quick look in the dark. Also I presume you clean these things with carb cleaner ? Cheers Ian Quote
Steven.Langdale Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Ian It's right on top of the throttle body. 2 small bolts and a multiplug. when you take it off you will see 2 small holes, TIS said to renew the seal on this, but if it looks ok..... Steven Quote
charles Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 just cleaned mine ACV last week. Had also randomly tickover problems.Accidently the car completly stalled at a traffic light.I cleaned it with carb cleaner . the valve must move freely.I put some drops engine oil on it to lubricate it.Now it's fixed Quote
