Guest blatters Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 OK, here is the test - are you guys up to the challenge. Right now, as we do our tax return, I need an answer to why great long strands of fibre are coming out of my friends exhaust tail pipe. She has a Ford Ka but, as you know, this Galaxy website is far more active and I need an answer quickly. Anyone know. It's Blatters asking ;) I'm waitin for you! Quote
corskey Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Sounds as though the catalyst converter has passed to the great catalyst graveyard in the sky. ;) ;) Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Either she's run over a horse ;) or the fibre packaging used for the sound deadening is breaking up and getting blown out the end box ;) has it got any noisier in the past few weeks? is it running any worse? if the internals of the boxes are collapsing they could block/restrict the gas flow and cause a few problems! Masked Marauder Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Agreed, it is nothing to do with the cat, it is the sound deadening fiberglass lining from the silencer box/s. Quote
Guest blatters Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 vr6galaxy, We've just finished her tax return and checked this site - well done!!! Sounds like the rear box as you say. Power is well down due to the restricted exhaust gas flow. She will get the unit checked tomorrow. Hopefully not the catalyst - doesn't look like it. Thanks to you all. Blatters Quote
