Guest mbev51 Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Hi I have some drivability problem on my 97 sharan tdi 181k with a beautifull 90 bhp engine. When the trottle is opened quite widely before the turbo comes in nothing much happens, slow throttle opening are more efective. Once turbo is in it revs to red line. Also had a problem at high speed when putting foot right down. I replaced the air mass meter with a cheap one from GSF but no different, I then changed the fuel filter as it was well overdue, no difference. I should emphasise the car is still very drivable but its not right. Had a vag computer scan done today and its come up with INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESSURE REGULATING DIFFERENCE- SPORADIC it was suggested by the technician that I first of all clean with carb spray the intake pressure manifold sensor. If that didn't work I should change it, he said he had changed a few. He also said to check all the vacume hoses, some of which had lost some of the protective covering and had rubber core exposed, but no obvius signs of leaks. Any ideas Quote
Masked Marauder Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 The chap who advised you is pretty much spot on, it is either the sensor reading erratic, or the vacuum pipes are leaking, or a faulty turbo, so should be checked in that order. Quote
seatkid Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 treat it to some new vacuum pipes.... Quote
