studiodemon Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Hi,I am going to put a replacement engine into my 1998 mk1, 1.9tdi, 110bhp.The sticker on the belt cover under the bonnet has worn off and can`t be read.Someone suggested looking in the boot but i don`t seem to see one there.I need it so that i can tell the breakers for a replacement. Any ideas? Thanks Quote
studiodemon Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 After a lot of phone calls a friend of mine checked with Auto Data and said it was a 1Z or AHU.Does this sound right? Quote
El Dingo Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 According to ETKA it could be 1Z, ANU, AFN, AVG or AHU... but this is VW Sharan. ????? ... and my timing belts book says 1Z or AHU from 1995 to 1999 and AFN from 1997 to 2000. So I guess studiodemon is right. Or you could ring a Ford dealer and ask? Quote
seatkid Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 The 110bhp diesel is engine code AFN. 1Z is the early (Euro II) 90bhp, AHU is the later (Euro III) 90bhp. There should be a large sticker in the rear storage compartment (where the jack is) with vehicle build info printed on it. Quote
