Guest KARMUN Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 :P hi there, been reading the post that are relative to the front wiper motor problems, is this a common fault?.Have a '99 Galaxy 1.9Tdi Ghia and the wipers have just failed, on stripping out the wiper assembly rack and checking this out the pinion on one side was very tight so stripped out both sides, cleaned, rubbed, greased and reassembled, put the wiper rack back in and hey presto the pinions rotated freely yipee it works!OH-NO IT DOES NOT as soon as i fit the wiper arms they stop again but a bit of assistance and they move freely but take away the assistance and guess what yep it stops the pinions are free moving.is the motor unit F****D? is there an overload sensor within the motor unit, is this repairable? If not where can i get hold of a new wiper motor Not from the rip-off main dealers Quote
