Pineappleman Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 Hi can anyone answer the following please. 1. If all the lights work ok but you cant turn off the side/tail lights when the ignition is on will it fail the MOT???? 2. you can only operate the lights when the ignition is turned on. Will this fail the MOT?? Thanks Pineappleman Quote
Masked Marauder Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 Do the side lights work with the engine off? There is no fail for them staying on when the ignition is on. The only issue is if you have dim-dip lights which operates the main lights at low power when the engine is running and the side lights are switched on, but Galaxies don't have them. Quote
dave_m Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 i think it would be a fail if you don't have sidelight operation with the engine off, you probably will find they will test them with the ignition switched on and won't notice they don't work without ignition Quote
Topbloke Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 some fiats and alfas have the same as you describe ie have to have ign on to have sidelights working, this in its self is not a fail as long as sidelights are on and not dim dip (reduced voltage to headlight bulb) Quote
