Guest MATT Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 it might be the wires in the rubber boot, that goes from the door to the car body. pull it back, and have a look for damaged/broken wires do both switches fail to operate the window? ie, the one on the drivers door, and passenger door? smoggy7 Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 hi, i had the same problem my button on the drivers door wouldnt close the windows so i took off the unit just pulls out of their clasps took it indoors undo the screws that is holding it together, clip off the buttons and underneath them is little white bits some of them comes out so i sprayed them with cleaner put back into place put it all back together and it works now, i think the white bits get clogged with crap and needs cleaning hope it may help you smoggy Quote
paulmpaciorek Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Drivers side rear window stopped working.Wont work off either switch. There isnt any power getting to the motor as it doesnt dimm the lights when you press either of the buttons as the others do. Firstly i suspected a broken wire as those tight arsed Germans (not very pc I know!!)only give you a minimal amount of wire that isnt suficient. As suspected broken red yellow and a breaking brown wire. Are these the correct wires for the window not working or do I need to look for more damaged wires. Also how does the connector come out of the B pillar ?
