Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 On the side of the throttle body, it's on the right of the throttle body, round unit bolted in place with a cable going to it, check the cables plugged in ok and there is no corrosion or breaks in the loom? if it looks ok? try resetting it! open the drivers door, switch on ignition but dont start the engine and then leave for a while, (30/40 secs) you should hear the throttle motor whizz round a bit then settle down  take it for a spin and see how you get on? you can re calibrate it via VAGCOM but if your not sure how to exactly DONT do it :o mine does the same thing ocassionally <_< traced it down to the thottle position actuator  it's not cheap to replace! when I asked at Ford and VW they said they dont sell it seperately :( they sell youit and the whole throttle body that's it's bolted to at a great cost :o luckily I got a brand new one off Ebay at a steal from under a fellow members nose :P Quote
