Diy Fit Of Ford Cd Changer To 6000cd Head Unit

(Tried to post this under I.C.E. but it wouldn't let me!)

 

Got my hands on a Ford CD Changer and was pleased to see my 2002 Galaxy had the wiring loom with correct plug behind the rear LH panel.

 

Plugged it in and immediately got power to the unit (could eject cartridge) but it was not recognised by the head unit.

 

Tried everything that the user manual says (hit CD button twice, etc) but to no avail. Is there something I've got to plug in at the back of the head unit or a coded key sequence?

 

Bit stumped - any help would be greatly appreciated!

I suppose there's no harm in checking that the other end of the loom actually goes somewhere and is not just "dangling" in the dash somewhere.
