midhertsgalaxy Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 I have had My Manual 2.3 Mk2 Galaxy for 18 months now and 4 times it has failed to even turn over. Instead the battery has sounded very weak and ALL the warning lights have flashed at random, accompanied by much relay clicking. The last time was with a car full of children, so I got out ot phone the AA. I got back in and...hey presto it started. So could be an immobilser problem connected with the drivers door (I had not got out since previously stopping the engine...everyone else has...does this sound daft theory)The other thing is, when i start normally, there is often a whirring cog sound straight after the engine fires. It sounds like a starter motor dis-engaging, but I thought dis-engaging starter motors went out with the Ark. If it is this then I guess the occaisional starting problem listed above could be a jamming started motor. Has anyone out there in Galaxy land had a similar problem. A brief trawl of the forum revealed lots of starting problems with an auto, but this is a manualThanksMidhertsgalaxy Quote
seatkid Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Sounds like a weak battery - get it checked at a tyre/battery depot. Quote
Topbloke Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 deffinetly sounds like a dead cell in the battery Quote
