Hi, I have the same problem as many others. Front wipers slow moving then stopping etc. I sucessfully managed to detach the linkage in order to clean it, but I couldn't get it out as I couldn't unplug the electrics from the motor. I am obviously doing something wrong but what?

In addition I only damaged one piece of trim and lost one screw!!

I was appauled to see the top of the suspension legs exposed and full of rusty water. Shouldn't these have a rubber cover?

hi mate, just to let you know i have just spent 3 hours working on my wipers same problem as you are having the spindles were seized solid and has to come out to be cleaned and regreased there were 3 spindles on mine so done all 3 what a difference it made better wipers now and gliding over the screen instead of slow and dragging wipers reall not that difficult to get at and to take out, the clip that is attached to the motor side just push in the two clips and pull out was alittle stuck but got it in the end there is just to the right of the clip is a plastic clip attached to it to keep the wires away from moving parts i had to use a screw driver just to release it once this was all done then undo the 3 brass nuts you cant miss them once you have taken all that plastic trim and crap off the whole unit then just pull away and a bit fiddly but it comes out all together, put on a bench and take out the c clip and washer and pull the spindle through , mine was not as easy on the one side seized solid so sprayed with wd40 soaked in for a while then we had to use a block to protect the thread and had to hit it with an hammer that was the only way we could get it out once out sprayed with wd40 cleaned the spindle and regreased them put back together and do the same to the others refit the unit and all should be ok try it i did and saved me

A word of warning for anyone with siezed spindles. The housings that the spindles rotate in are made from cast material and WILL snap if hit to hard. You have been warned.

hi, yes i agree with that but i used a lump hammer to get mine out lol so must be a little stronger than we thought then lol, but you have to be carefull also i forgot to mention that once the whole unit is out how easy it was to see and fit the filter for the air con i wish i had gone out and bought a brand new one as it would have saved me the trouble still mine was quite new so not really bothered , no probs mike me very happy now been out in the rain and the wiper go like hell now i am real chuffed, also the other way to loosen the spindle is put the bolt in the vice spray with wd40 and grab the whole linkage and turn from side to side until it loosens then tap it a couple of times and restart again until it do eventually come good takes ages but well worth the wait i think thanks smoggy

how you getting on with them spindles mate any luck with it?
