Guest CheemaD Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005  HI Everyone, I'm new to this forum (must say thats its exelent). I've just bought my 1st MPV 2001/X 1.9TDi Sharan SE. Love the car. Reading through various posts I now know the various bad and good points about the car, but i'm still confused about one thing. I have a question about the Booster heater (the bit under the rear pasanger seat). Is this responsible for producing the heat that the rear Auxilary Heater uses to warm up the rear of the car, as well as warming up the coolant for the engine. I think mine works fine because the rear aux heater starts to blow out hot air a lot quicker than the front does. If not how does the rear Aux heater generate its heat, is it drawn from the heater matrix in the front of the car. Many Many thanks Dal Quote
johnb80 Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 The rear heater gets it's heat from the coolant system. The aux heater when conditions are right (varied views on this but generally less than 11 deg C outside and less than 90 deg C coolant temp) the booster heater will start up ang put up to 7Kw of heat into the water system.
