Guest Bandit Baz Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Picked up my first galaxy last week (98 glx 2.0) after reading up on all the faults deciced not to get one.Took one for a test drive and a few days later its part of the family.Well it was this or a zafira, which apart from having rust bubbles felt like a clowns car from a circus. Anyway three faults so far, remote locking only works when it feels like it and the temp gauge seems to stay in the first white zone moving only slightly.(not the end of the world) And can anyone tell me if the aircon is supposed to provide instant hot air in this model or just cold air? or is this just on climate control models. No worries either way its still a brilliant car!Happy New year.Baz. Guest vr6galaxy Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 The remote system IIRC is Infra Red so the range is limited and it's a line of sight job! as in you have to point the beam at the receivers mounted above the rear hatch and above the rear veiw mirror, try changing the thermostat, there are a few posts on cold running engines! so your not alone  the AC wont provide instant heat! the AC only provides cooled air, if your lucky! :D the heater is supplied with heat by the coolant via the engine, so once the engine has been running a while and is up to temp, then you should get hot air from the heater? as you say yours is running cool this may be a problem?
