Guest mps69 Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Hi I hope someone can help here before I go mad.I've got a P reg 1800 and I'm well happy with it, however I've got a couple of liitle problems that I can't seem to fix.Firstly the blower will only work at the highest setting (4) all the other nothing. I've checked fuses, and they are all fine. What could I try?Secondly, boot won't open without the key. Again I've stripped everyting down and it all looks fine, and when you press the button nothing happens. What could be wrong here?Last one, honest, the electric window on the passenger side won't work from the switch on the passenger door, however the window operates fine from the drivers side, again any ideas. Many Thanksmps Quote
Guest jacko Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Not 100% sure, but the number 3 speed on our modeo fan has stopped, our mechanic at work tells me that the are 3 resistors on the fan unit and for me one of them has blown. Some bad news he informed me that the whole dashboard has to be removed, but I've put a post on this website so maybe you could keep a eye on that too . As for the window I'd reckon its the switch that has gone faulty remove the switch and find which one has 12V supply and short this to the other 2 wires (one open one close) see if the window moves (if so its the switch) sorry can't help with the boot, maybe the solenoid has gone faulty. Guest fredt Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Some bad news he informed me that the whole dashboard has to be removed memo to self........dont let that guy near my car! on early models pre 2000 the heater blower fan motor is removed by unclipping the passenger foot well lower dash trim, look up under the dash and there is the fan motor! :D unplug it, near to the plug is the motors retaining clip, undo this and twist the motor anti clock wise, it should no drop out :D reverse the procedure to refit the resistor pack is the bit kit to the side of the motor mounted on the heater, unplug it and prize it out, if you have lost a fan speed it's most likely this that has gone, if it goes totally you will loose all the speeds but still have the top speed as this is a direct feed off the switch not through the resistor pack on post 2000 models the lower dash trim has to be removed as well as the glove box, then its as before 2000 Quote
