Don't know if the aircon is the same type as fitted to the Audi A2, but I've just found this on another car help site and it may be relevant:Thanks to the Audi A2 owners club site for this:

- Accessing On-Board Diagnostic codes:

Press and hold the recirculation button. Then press the manual flow control up arrow. You should see a 1c. Press the temperature up ("+") or down ("-") buttons to select a code number. Then press the recirculation button again. The value should display. Press the temperature up or down button again to display another code.

NOTE: Air Flow Motor (V 71) and Potentiometer (G 113) are not installed in USA/Canada vehicles. Disregard values displayed for these components.

Blimey Ivor, did you cut and paste, or was that a marathon typing session  If it works that looks like useful info, thanks.

Hi Ivor,

Just tried the diagnostic procedure on my '98 2.3 Ghia, with no luck.

Somewhere I remember reading that the 2.0 & 2.3 engines are made by Ford; would that imply that the aircon is like to be a Ford one too ?

Also would the "VAG-Com" shareware software be any good for interrogating the aircon, assuming it is a VW system ?

Many thanks,

Yuri.

Disappointing to hear that the Audi fault codes/diagnostic does not work.

The aircon system is VW, different compressors are used depending on the engine. VW 2.0 and Ford 2.0 engines are different. 2.3 is a Ford-only option, made by Ford.

Don't know about VAG-COM software, sorry.
