Which Way To Twist It ?

hi again, while swopping the wifes throttle pedal i thought id swop the dreaded brake light switch as well, looked for how to do on here and set aboot the job.

haynes book said twist clockwise to release the ford tis disc said twist anticlockwise. when i twist clockwise the relasing lugs are in the wrong way, if twisti in anti clockwise then the switch jams against the pedal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how the !!!!!!!!!! do you release this switch ? its a 4 pin one . obviously i could break the old one out but what aboot putting the new one in.

On my 98 model,,,,i twisted clockwise for off,,,,,anticlockwise to put on
