dave_m Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 My alarm has started going off for no reason. I think on certain car alarms the led flashes in a particular pattern to indicate which type of sensor set it off once you disarm it, does anyone know if this is the case with the Fraud Alarm? Or anything i need to check, I don't think its spiders on the ultrasonic sensors as theres none about in this cold weather. If I cant sort it out is it possible to disable permanently with VAG COM? it went off at 3am this morning neighbours were far from impressed!! :( thanks, dave Quote
Andrew T Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 You can prevent the alarm from setting by pressing the lock button on the remote (or locking with key) twice in quick succession - confirm that the LED in the drivers door is not flashing. Also can be done by locking the drivers door from inside (by reaching from the rear door). Quote
Masked Marauder Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 The alarm also has it's own horn, simply pull the connector off. Quote
Guest MATT Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 The alarm also has it's own horn :o :o has it? i thought the "hooter" and the "alarm" used the same horn? as mine sound the same? if there is two, where is the alarm one located, as its a bit wimpy for my liking? MATT  Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 Pop the bonnet and set the alarm off :o the sound will come from the scuttle area below the windscreen, where as if you stick your head under the front bumper drivers side next to the towing eye and get some one to push the horm buttons  the sound will come from there :o be careful if you do attempt to replace the alarm horn as it's 10A relay controlled feed! dave_m Posted December 22, 2005 Author Report Posted December 22, 2005 upon further investigation i have discovered my rear washer pipe has become separated in front of the passenger seat, I think some of this water may have got on to a connector related to the alarm as now I have dried it out a bit it seems to be O.K. This is probably why my parking sensors are playing up as well, as I believe the Controls for this are under the front passenger seat. I have seen the posts on the washer pipe repair and will be doing this later! Quote
