10 Or 15/40 Oil

hi all cant find answer in looking , does the mk1 TDI 90hp want a 10/40 or 15/40 semi synthectic oil in it, it got 23,000 miles on replacement engine thanks

Provided it has VW505.00 stamped on the can, it doesn't matter.

 

The 10/40W will be slightly more economical than the 15/40W. Best to stick to using the same brand/type of oil every change......
