Lost Key

I only got one key (a red one) when I bought my used Galaxy (96). I have lost this key and Ford say they need to order 3 keys to program them to work, they say the immobiliser has a

afaik shalaxies have only ever been supplied with two keys when new.

cant see why you cant just order one key, i'm pretty sure that others have...see this thread which gives a link for new transponder keys from

Thanks for that, but I am told the 3 key strategy is for all pre 98 Galaxys, still wondering if what they are telling me is correct i.e. 3 keys required for pre 98 and cannot deactivate immobiliser.

You just need the Immobiliser ID number and then they can generate the 4 digit immobiliser programming code. Once you have that you use the workshop interface or VAG-COM to program the keys.
