Justice Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 Sometimes tyres can make a sound like bearing hum, dose it sound like it's from the front or back. Quote
El Dingo Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 Did you have the wheels off? You might have a siezed brake caliper, where the pad on the piston side (inner) does all the work and wears out, while the outer pad looks fine. This results in a whirring sound. A worn wheel bearing would grumble more than whirr??? Quote
Guest alan Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 thanks for the replies, it seems to come from the rear and is more noticable when loaded up have just replaced front and rear pads today no abnormal ware and no difference to the noise tested bearings once again and was not able to detect any harsh or roughness when spinning the wheels and neither is there any play lateraly tyres will need replacing soon so hope that this will cure the noise. bit of a mystery have had the noise for about 10,000 miles now Quote
