I think it's a lot more than that. I researched it last year. It was then shown on the Ford UK website with a price. Planned to buy one in Germany as it was the same number as UK

Auchan only sell generic ones, sorry!

Looks like Ford have equalised the price of the fridge/coolbox that clips in place.

Also when you are at Auchun, have a look in Norauto, there is one by the Auchun at Dunkirk, Calais or Boulogne. They have a good range of Coolboxes, there is a nice 32litre one which is about the size of the Ford one (albeit without the clips for the seat mounts). Though if you want an ordianry sized one Woolies do one for

hi guys sorry to drag up an old topic but i have just purchased a chiller/warmer box and after reading the manual noticed it takes 2/3 hours to reach temp.....does that mean leave it plugged into the spare rear sockets before we set out for up to 2 hours(will this drain the battery),or is there an adapter that means i could plug it into mains at home prior to the trip????(P.S i have just noticed halfords do a similar coolbox with a mains adaptor as an optional extra +

Yes and Yes, it will take approx 3 hours to cool. The trick is to use those blocks you stick in the home freezer the night before, add them to the cool box to lower the temperature faster. Best method I've found to run the box on 12volts indoors is to get one of the battery booster/tyre inflater things. SOme have a 12volt socket on them, so you can even run the cool box when away from mains power. For peace of mind, you could even run it off this in the car overnight, to ensure that the car battery doesn't go flat.

I bought one of these coolboxes last year, but was frightened by the price of the mains adaptors. So......

I cut the leads off of my 5A battery charger, fitted a 12v lighter plug on the leads and a 12v lighter socket on the charger.

Used it on a weeks holiday in the tent, with the coolbox on mains non stop. I was prepared for a fused charger, but it worked faultlessly.

I'm now looking at one of those 12v cooling fans with a water evaporator in front of the fans - air conditioning in the tent B)
