Guest gornall Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 I had a serious steering problem which meant that my Galaxy followed any unnevenness in the road moving the wheel around in my hands. The Ford garage couldn't identify the problem at the 10,000 or 20,000 services.I changed the factory fitted Michelins for four new dunlop 20/20 and the problem has disappeared. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 Did you have the tracking checked? It was most likely a bad tyre, but toe-out will give the same symptoms and will be cured by new tyres until they wear in. Quote
Guest MATT Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 i didn't have any trouble before hand, but today i have just had two new dunlop's on the front, and grip has improved tremendously! it feels Quote
Guest gornall Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 The Ford garage said that they had checked the tracking. It was the first thing everyone thought of. I'll wait to see if the problem returns once these new tyres have worn in. Ford Customer Care had just got involved as the garage weren't finding the problem and I think they were considering a new steering rack before the new tyres were fitted and seemed to have cured it.
