Gearbox Problems

I have a 2001 2.3 Zetec model with 70,000 on the clock.

It has been more than reliable with only wear and tear running costs. Tyres etc.

But have recently been experiencing problems selecting Reverse gear, this is an

intermittent problem. Can anyone give advice, is this going to be a costly repair i.e. whole box, or having check a couple of other sites could it be just the "Pinch bolt" that requires replacement. :huh:

there is no pinch bolt , the selection is via cables it could be that the cables have streched or as is more common starting to break but as it is intermitant it don't make a lot of sense
