Guest Trudge Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 On my wifes galaxy 2004 ghia lemonade has spilled from the cup in the front cup holders and got into the digital aircon unit which has now stopped working. Cost of new unit is mid 300's with installation at fairly high level due to diagnostics needing doing (according to ford!). Is there anything else we can do? would it be worth getting in the sealed unit and trying to clean? any advice appreciated. Quote
seatkid Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Strip it down, and wash the PCB (with VW spray Brake cleaner (TCE)) and allow to dry out before reassembly. Make sure you get to both sides. Its probably still got some lemonade swilling about, causing electrical leakage. Should be OK when dried out properly. If you see any corrosion or sticky mess, use a toothbrush when spraying it down. Dont ask me how to strip it down though..... Quote
