Guest blatters Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 Listen lads, I'm really, really sorry to raise the subject of my winter tyres again but........ I've had these four winter continental TS810's since early November. Just checked the pressure in each tyre at the garage last Sunday and all four were at 29PSI. I had previously thought they looked a bit sad but these are the first winters I've ever had. Anyway, I've inflated them to 41/38 PSI as on the door pillar. But this probably refers to summer tyres and I wonder whether inflation for winters is different? I've checked the continental web site, no help. I've emailed their contact centre but no reply. I've called the Ford dealer and they have said it should be 41/38 PSI as for summer's unless the driver's manual says anything different - don't think it says anything on the matter. No apology for the under inflation and doesn't inspire much confidence in the accuracy of their advice now. So, does anyone know whether you inflate to different pressures for winter tyres or is it the same as you would use for the summer ones? I'm travelling to work and back on these every day and it's a tad worrying. Thanks to you in advance. Blatters Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 Same pressure for summer and winter tyres. Only if you get stuck on ice/snow drifts should you drop the pressures, then once you're on the move, re-inflate them again. Quote
