gazza007 Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 My Alhambra 1.9 PDI is being serviced today and the garage has called to say I need the Pads doing & want Quote
degens Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 I haven't done the pads on the galaxy yet but front brake pads are normally very straight forward. Took about 30 mins to do both sides on my Peugeot 106 and Maestro. The garage wanted Quote
Guest Andy Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Changing the pads are an easy task,i prefer LUCUS pads,or ap lockheed, they have a very good compound not too hard and not too soft,MINTEX are good but i find that they are a very very hard pad and tend to wear discs out very quickly,(brass, copper) amoungst a few ingredients, squeel, squeel, squeel.STAY away from the cheap noddy makes, yuk yuk. Also if you do have pads fitted at a garage and your cars year is 2000 and after they are supposed to fit pads with the regulation 90 stamp mark.(a circle with E90in it),it is a lawful requirement now so that the pads they fit are within 15% of the OE pads.    Quote
gazza007 Posted August 14, 2003 Author Report Posted August 14, 2003 Had a look at pads. About 4mm on front & 5mm on back, so reckon I've got a about another 2-3k left.Intrestingly the front pads haven't got sensors on. I imagine that the previous owner didn't bother ot have sensor pads fitted after the originals were changed. Quote
