Temp Guage

So, got me engine sorted thanks to Steve67Car. Now there seems to be no reading from the temp guage. Well there was when I got it back from the garage. Had to go straight to work so it's been parked all afternoon. When I came home in it, the bl**dy thing is back to reading right at the very bottom of the white section. earlier it was at the top of the white section but went no higher. When I switch on it moves to the bottom of the white bit right away. Both switches have been replaced & they said there was a broken wire, supposedly fixed it and gave me my car back after telling me it came to

:P mine was the same on my mk1 never worked for 99%of the time swopped senders still no joy gave up looking for fault in the end :D

IIRC there is another post on this topic and again IIRC there's a joint/plug in the loom below or around the battery tray/coolant bottle area which was the cause of another poster temp gauge problems!

Thanks for the replies guys. It is sort of working now, but never rises above the white section at the base of the readout. My Rover, (bless) always went to the centre section. Good thing is they back it up with a warning light just above it so should avoid disasters anyway. Cheers again chaps, I'll keep an eye on it & see how it goes.
