Guest neil_wiles Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 OK so I should have tried harder but the master return injector is blowing through the sealing ring and I cannot get it to move. any suggestions apart from snapping it off and removing the head to push it out from the inside. Help it could get very costly. Oh by the way just to keep up the standard that I keep hearing about and give me a chance of getting some help: 1999TDi90Ps220,000 milesHead off at 140,000 due to cambelt tensioner failure ( Quote
Masked Marauder Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Soak it with WD40 and leave it overnight. Or try tapping it with a copper mallet. I had a bastard of a job removing all 4 of mine when I overhaulled my head. Quote
jimjamjo Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 How did your cambelt tensioner fail out of interest? Did the nut come loose in the middle I've just rebuilt my engine after 163k and reused the original tensioner... Quote
Guest marcusheawood Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 ...neil, have you got a crowfoot socket the correct size? If not it would be a VERY good investment (buy quality though!) then you can just use a bigger breaker bar (try localized warming as well with a hot air gun) Quote
