Usual one for crank pulley nuts is get a socket on it, wedge the tommy bar near a chassis member and flick the starter.

My method is to get a long tube (3 to 4 ft), get a fair bit of pressure on it and then hit down near the end of it with a hammer. Usually a couple of good hits will loosen the nut.

Cool, how low can you go?

Seriously though, this is what we do when we take the crank nuts off of our Astra GTEs and they are a hernia inducing 250Nm and 90 degrees.

Is that why there's a water trough and a saloon round the back of the local Vauxhall dealers then? or is that just for tieing up the body shop cowboys horses :o

Thankfully the only time I get close to W Grosse is when I am buying parts!

I once told the MD down there that part of his sign was missing! he asked what part and I answered the part that should read INCOMPETENCE

GROSSE INCOMPETENCE :o

.....as the spend has been authorised by the wife. I managed to get her to agree to an engine crane a few weeks back

Is this just my perverted sense of humour or did anyone else envisage the engine crane being used to winch the wife into the car ?
